We're on a journey to build a workforce reflective of our Borough.
We are committed to fostering diverse teams where everybody can bring their authentic selves to work and feel that they belong. If you want to work for a Council where everybody is encouraged to meet their full potential and make a difference in our neighbourhoods, we would love to hear from you!
Your role:
As Duty Venue Manager, you'll be the person who keeps the venue running smoothly when it matters most. From busy trading periods and lively evening events to welcoming visitors and supporting independent traders, you'll take the lead on shift, making decisions, solving problems and setting the standard for customer experience. No two days will be the same.
You'll work closely with colleagues, traders and customers to create a safe, vibrant and welcoming environment, while supporting the success of one of Wigan's most exciting regeneration projects. If you enjoy variety, responsibility and being at the heart of the action, this role is for you.
About you:
We're looking for a confident and approachable leader who enjoys working in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment and isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves when needed.
You'll be calm under pressure, capable of making good decisions and leading a team through busy trading periods, events and unexpected challenges. With strong people skills, you'll build positive relationships with traders, customers and colleagues alike, ensuring everyone receives a high standard of service.
You'll take pride in creating a safe, welcoming and well-presented venue, bringing energy, reliability and a proactive attitude to every shift. Experience in hospitality, retail, leisure or events would be a real advantage
About us:
We are committed to developing our staff through onthejob training, mentoring and access to learning opportunities that help you build a longterm career in property services.
