Chief Officer Inclusive Growth - Help shape the future of Wigan Borough
At Wigan Council, we believe that growth only matters when everyone has the opportunity to benefit from it.
We're looking for an inspiring and ambitious Chief Officer for Inclusive Growth to help us deliver our vision for the future, leading some of the most important work taking place across our borough. This is a unique opportunity to influence how investment, regeneration, economic development and housing growth create lasting benefits for our residents, communities and businesses.
Working directly with the Chief Executive and as a key member of our Chief Officer Team, you'll provide strategic leadership across a broad and ambitious agenda, helping to deliver our Progress with Unity missions and ensuring that growth is both sustainable and inclusive.
This is a role for someone who sees beyond projects and programmes and understands the power of place. Someone who can bring together partners, attract investment, unlock opportunities and build confidence in the borough. Someone who can help shape thriving town centres, connected neighbourhoods and an economy where people and businesses can succeed.
Wigan Borough has a strong track record of innovation, collaboration and delivering for communities. We are proud of what we've achieved, but we're equally ambitious about what comes next. Significant investment opportunities, regeneration ambitions and a clear commitment to inclusive growth mean this is an exciting time to join us.
As a key partner within the Greater Manchester Combined Authority and the wider devolution agenda, Wigan is well placed to influence and benefit from regional investment, strategic partnerships and opportunities that drive economic growth and improved outcomes for residents. This role offers the opportunity to shape both local priorities and contribute to the wider Greater Manchester vision.
If you're a strategic leader who can combine vision with delivery, build strong partnerships and inspire others around a shared ambition for the future, we'd love to hear from you.
Why Wigan?
This is more than a leadership role. It's an opportunity to make a genuine difference to the lives of people across our borough.
You'll join an organisation known nationally for its strong values, collaborative culture and commitment to public service. You'll work alongside talented colleagues, elected members, businesses, anchor institutions and community partners to help create opportunities that improve outcomes for current and future generations.
Together, we'll continue to build a borough where people, places and businesses can thrive.
For a confidential discussion about the opportunity, please contact, Maud Hollis on 07444 696659 or Clare Connor on 0161 408 0703.
