Your role:
We are seeking a reliable and practical Building Support Assistant to help maintain safe, clean, and welcoming environments across multiple properties in the Wigan borough. You will carry out minor repairs, grounds maintenance, cleaning, building checks, and support with deliveries, furniture movement, and site upkeep. The role requires a proactive approach to health and safety, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently across different locations. You will play a key role in ensuring our buildings and facilities remain compliant, well-presented, and fit for purpose for residents, visitors, and staff.
About you:
You will have experience in building maintenance, caretaking, grounds maintenance, or a similar practical role, with the ability to carry out basic repairs and maintenance safely and effectively. You will be confident working independently across multiple sites, managing competing priorities, and responding to changing service needs. A good understanding of health and safety requirements, including safe working practices and risk awareness, is essential. You will have strong communication and customer service skills, be able to identify and report defects and hazards, and be physically capable of undertaking lifting, gardening, maintenance tasks, and working at height when required.
