We're on a journey to build a workforce reflective of our Borough.

We are committed to fostering diverse teams where everybody can bring their authentic selves to work and feel that they belong. If you want to work for a Council where everybody is encouraged to meet their full potential and make a difference in our neighbourhoods, we would love to hear from you!

Your role:

As a Quality Performance Officer you will support the local adult social care market to raise standards across the borough ensuring a choice of high quality services that are each kind, compassionate and hold person centred care and user experience at the forefront of service delivery.

In line with the Care Act 2014 and The Care Quality Commissions regulatory framework you will support both the development and implementation of a local approach to comprehensive quality assurance informed by people in receipt of services and their experiences.

You will work a range of health and social care professionals, people in receipt of services and their families.

You will support and lead on complaint responses and support aspects of the safeguarding process.

About you:

You will be a passionate and energetic leader who shares our commitment, working in collaboration with a range of partners to support Wigan residents to live happy, healthy lives.

You will have the commitment and drive to ensure the ongoing improvement and transformation of the external market.

You will be a great communicator and developing effective relationships with external providers and supporting professionals will be key to your success in the role.

About us:

We are a small team within the wider Provider Management and Market Development service, committed to the co-design and delivery of excellent services for Wigan residents. We are proud of our ability to drive innovation and lead ambitious service redesign and improvement programmes.

We are passionate about representing the voice of customers and local people in all of our work and work hard to develop mature, collaborative relationships with providers to achieve great outcomes for Wigan residents.

We offer an environment which welcomes people with drive, enthusiasm, and a proactive approach to doing the ‘right thing’, ensuring that people are supported through services which are genuinely enabling people to fulfil their potential and live happy lives.

Though the role of the QPO is generic, the post is aligned to a specific market area supporting the nursing and residential and extra care market.

The Progress with Unity plan is a place movement for change for the next decade, bringing a new era for Wigan Borough. It draws on the strengths of our individual organisations, recognising that together we can achieve much more for our communities by delivering on our 2 place missions; create fair opportunities for all children, families, residents and businesses and make our towns and neighbourhoods flourish for those who live and work in them.

Here at Wigan, we are proud to support flexible working patterns, when the service can accommodate this. We also take a blended approach to where we work, depending on the work we do. This may include working from home, the office, or the community. We like to thank our employees for their hard work and commitment by giving them the opportunity to access a range of exclusive rewards and benefits click here to find out more about working for #TeamWigan.
