Salary: Grade 4, £25,583 - £26,824 per annum. £13.26 - £13.90 per hour

5 positions x 37 hours per week

Your role:

The role involves working as part of the Waste Services team to safely collect and load waste and recycling containers on designated collection rounds. Responsibilities include emptying and returning bins, operating collection vehicle lifting mechanisms in line with safety procedures, and assisting drivers with vehicle manoeuvres. The post holder will also undertake a range of wider Waste Services duties, including bin delivery, bin repairs, and cleansing activities, ensuring services are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard for residents and customers.

The post-holder will be based at Makerfield Way Depot and will be required to work flexibly in line with demands of Waste Services

At Waste Services, our aim is simple: to provide a quality, customer focused service. We are looking to recruit 1 Waste Collection Loader to our successful waste services team. You must be able to work effectively as part of team and have a flexible and “can do” attitude to work.

About us:

This role is essential in ensuring we deliver a quality cost effective recycling / waste collection service to the residents of the borough, you will promote our waste collection policy and encourage residents to recycle more / recycle right, the current recycling rate is around 52% but the Council has commitment to achieve a target of over 60% by 2035.
