We are committed to fostering diverse teams where everybody can bring their authentic selves to work and feel that they belong. If you want to work for a Council where everybody is encouraged to meet their full potential and make a difference in our neighbourhoods, we would love to hear from you!
Your role:
You will support the Early Help Development Manager to co-ordinate the engagement, performance, and completion of parenting support across the Wigan Borough.
With experience of undertaking and coordinating whole family and parenting support you will support the Early Help and Prevention Service to coordinate the parenting offer across the borough. You will be responsible for ensuring that service delivery is underpinned by the Progress with Unity missions.
Through effective coordination, you will support staff and partners, enabling a strength-based approach to service delivery. You will support the Early Help Development Manager in ensuring parenting support is effective, outcome based and meets statutory, financial, and legal requirements through highly effective performance oversight.
About you:
Are you a motivated and tenacious professional with a passion for improving outcomes for children and families? We are looking for someone with experience in Early Help and Prevention services, including the delivery and coordination of parenting support programmes. You will be innovative in developing and delivering services, confident in engaging parents, carers and partners, and skilled at overcoming barriers to support positive change. Above all, you will share our commitment to the values of Children's Services and making a lasting difference for children and families across the Wigan Borough.
About us:
Wigan Council has been voted ‘Overall Council of the Year’ at the APSE (Association for Public Service Excellence) Awards. We are signed up to the Greater Manchester Continuous Service Commitment ensuring that your service will be continuous or 'unbroken' between the supporting organisations.
The Progress with Unity plan is a place movement for change for the next decade, bringing a new era for Wigan Borough. It draws on the strengths of our individual organisations, recognising that together we can achieve much more for our communities by delivering on our 2 place missions; create fair opportunities for all children, families, residents and businesses and make our towns and neighbourhoods flourish for those who live and work in them.
We believe the best outcomes for children and families are achieved through early intervention, strong relationships and working together. Our Early Help service is committed to providing the right support at the right time, empowering families to build on their strengths and create lasting positive change. As a Parenting Coordinator, you'll join a passionate, supportive team that values innovation, collaboration and continuous learning.
