Your role:
Wigan council is looking for a talented and motivated individual to train to become a CIPFA qualified accountant. This will include invaluable work experience across a wide range of financial services including service management accountancy and corporate financial accountancy. You will be pivotal in supporting a high performing Finance team that was named Public Finance Team of the year in 2024.

About you:
We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and dynamic individual with a desire to work in the public sector. You do not need past finance work experience just a passion for it and a willingness to learn. Successful applicants will benefit from a supportive programme offering excellent personal and professional development, including a structured induction programme, development of leadership and management skills, as well as full support to undertake the CIPFA qualification. You will have a mentor to guide you through your journey to becoming a fully qualified accountant.
