Your role:

The HR & OD Front Facing team delivers professional, enabling support across the full breadth of HR and OD activity. As HR & OD Business Partner, you’ll play a key leadership role in delivering a modern, integrated HR & OD service. You’ll oversee and lead a team of HR Operational and OD colleagues. You’ll be instrumental in bringing together HR & OD, strengthening people management capability and driving continuous improvement. The role will also support the development and implementation of a new HR & OD single point of access, ensuring a consistent, accessible and customer focused experience.

About you:

You’re an experienced HR & OD professional with strong people leadership skills and a passion for improving how services are delivered. You’ll have credibility advising on complex employee relations and organisational change, alongside experience of delivering organisational development programmes of work. Collaborative and confident, you’re comfortable influencing across all levels and working in fast paced environments. You’re motivated by continuous improvement, inclusion and using insight to enhance practice. A relevant professional qualification or equivalent experience is essential.

You will play a key role in delivering the Council’s Progress with Unity vision and strategic priorities, working closely with the Service Lead (HR & OD), and Business Manager (Front Facing Team) and colleagues from across HR & OD to provide a high quality, modern and customer centred HR & OD service.

The contractual hours for this post will be worked across a range of locations to meet the needs of the role and the service. Work will be carried out across Council buildings and/or community venues across the borough. It is our priority to ensure that the role is fulfilled effectively and while there is some flexibility to work from home when service delivery allows, the expectation is that staff will attend the workplace for a minimum of two days per week. However, depending on service requirements, you may be required to work your full contractual hours on site at Council buildings and/or community venues.
