Salary: Grade 8, £36,363 - £ 40,777 per annum.

37 hours per week

Your role:

We are looking for someone who wants to join our Environmental Protection Team as an Environmental Protection Officer (EPO).

You will need an environmental degree, such as Environmental Health, Environmental Science, Environmental Management or Geography and extensive experience of the following:

planning consultations, especially for land contamination.

environmental permitting.

land contamination.

. acoustics.

The Environmental Protection Team are responsible for:

Responding to planning consultations for air quality, noise and land contamination

Air quality monitoring, reporting and air quality improvement initiatives.

Environmental Permitting, by inspecting businesses and issuing/varying permits.

Contaminated Land.

Private water supplies.

About you:

You will be a confident and a highly motivated team player with a good eye for detail and a sound knowledge of environmental protection legislation and associated guidance.

You’ll have experience of working in a Local Authority or private sector dealing with environmental issues, such as air quality, land contamination and noise.

You will have initiative and sound judgment and be able to work across a broad technical area and in a range of environmental protection functions.

You’ll have excellent interpersonal skills allied with the ability to listen, explain, negotiate and influence.

You will be supported with professional development in order to enhance your skills and experience.
