Your role:
This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly regarded and forward-thinking finance team.
You will be a key individual in providing dedicated financial support to the Council’s Maintained Schools.
In the varied role you will provide support, guidance and oversight to the schools to ensure that they maintain high standards of financial management and to ensure that the Local Authority discharges its responsibilities in relation to school’s finances.
The role also involves the monitoring of Council Children Services general fund budgets with a requirement to meet with the budget holders on a regular basis.

You are a confident, organised person, comfortable working independently as well as collaborating with colleagues.
You will have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently to tight timescales.
You will be able to present relevant financial information to enable effective, informed decision making.
You will be a highly motivated team player that can display the Team Wigan Behaviours be positive, accountable, courageous and kind.
