About Us:

THE EXTRAORDINARY STORY OF THE IMPOSSIBLE DREAM

Housing and Commercial Partnerships in Westminster City Council is a world of extraordinary stories. Where people use their vision and commitment to open doors for the next generations.

Nothing beats the feeling of helping someone find their passion. At Westminster City Council, our City Lions team helps young local people engage with culture, creativity and dreams. When they came across a lonely, isolated 16-year-old who called himself a failure, they knew what to do. They worked 1-2-1 to find the thing this boy really loved. YouTube, it turned out. But it’s impossible to turn that into a career, right? Wrong. A week later, he was enrolled on the British Film Institute film-making programme. It was the ultimate light-bulb moment. And it turned him into what he is today – a budding Spielberg with a world of opportunity at his feet.

The Role:

As a Repairs Administrator, you can make your own powerful contribution by helping us make sure the housing needs of everyone, from residents and families to social care users, are met.

You’ll be responsible for the administration of repairs and related services across different estates. This will include working with the Damp and Mould team to ensure compliance with Awaab’s Law timeframes. You’ll support the team to perform at their best and ensure a high-quality service. In return, we’ll support you to develop your skills and enable you to apply resident-centred best practice in everything you do.

As well as working with a range of Repairs and Housing colleagues you’ll liaise with residents, with a focus on customer experience and satisfaction. It will mean quickly understanding the context you’re working in, and working closely with residents, surveyors and fellow contractors to resolve any challenging issues.

Our residents deserve to live in safe, well maintained and high-quality homes. This rewarding role gives you the opportunity to help ensure they do. It’s important work with an impactful service, in a varied, friendly and fast-paced environment.

A confident communicator, you can engage, influence and grow strong working relationships with internal and external customers while networking across different areas. And, experienced in inbox management, you should also be IT literate in a wide range of Microsoft products.

From planning through to delivery, you bring strong organisational and time management skills and attention to detail to everything you do. You can co-ordinate tasks and projects with the ability to grasp concepts quickly, consider options and suggest new ideas. We also expect you to be committed to supporting equality and diversity, with the ability to deal with people at all levels confidently, sensitively and diplomatically.
