HR Administrator

Are you organised, approachable and confident managing a varied workload? Join our friendly and supportive HR team and help us provide an excellent service to colleagues across the Council.
In this varied role, you will:
- support recruitment and onboarding
- prepare contracts and HR documents
- coordinate right-to-work, identity and DBS checks
- update employee information on HR systems
- respond to routine HR queries
- manage diaries, arrange meetings and take notes
- liaise with colleagues on payroll matters
- support HR projects and job evaluation administration
The role requires excellent organisation, communication and customer service skills, together with accuracy, discretion and the ability to manage competing priorities.
You will need previous HR support experience within a local authority, civil service or another highly regulated or public sector environment. You should be confident using Microsoft 365 and able to learn new HR systems quickly. Experience of iTrent would be an advantage but is not essential.
We offer:
- Competitive salary: £26,060 increasing to£26,746 after 1 year and then to £27,432 after 2 years.
- Generous leave: 22 days’ annual leave, increasing to 27 days after five years’ continuous Local Government service, plus bank holidays and three additional days in December.
- Pension: Membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme, with an employer contribution stated as 16.8%.
- Hybrid working: Available following successful completion of your probation period and subject to service needs, up to 2 days working from home.
