About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity to join our Parking Services Team in a key support role. Reporting to the Parking and Traffic Manager, with day-to-day guidance from our Senior Parking Officers, you will assist with the administration and coordination of a wide range of parking services. This includes supporting Parking and Moving Traffic Enforcement activities, processing and monitoring permit applications, and managing parking suspensions and dispensations.
Working closely with colleagues across the service, you will contribute to the delivery of an efficient and customer-focused operation by helping to manage enquiries from residents, businesses and stakeholders, supporting high levels of customer satisfaction.
A typical day may involve speaking with customers, responding to enquiries by email and helping to resolve issues to support the smooth delivery of parking services. You may also provide accurate and timely administrative support for adjudication, court and enforcement agent (bailiff) processes, as well as responding to related queries.
As part of the role, you will undertake occasional visits to council-operated parking facilities, identifying opportunities for improvement and helping to ensure our parking services continue to meet the needs of residents, businesses and visitors.
About You
You will have excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships with colleagues, partners, businesses and members of the public. You will be organised, approachable and able to manage your own workload effectively, whilst also supporting colleagues and contributing to a collaborative team environment. The ability to gather, understand and communicate information clearly will be essential in helping to resolve enquiries and deliver positive outcomes.
You will be passionate about delivering a high-quality customer experience and thrive in a customer-focused environment. You will be confident following established processes and procedures, while also looking for opportunities to improve the way we work and the services we provide.
Experience or knowledge of local government services and Civil Parking Enforcement under the Traffic Management Act 2004 would be advantageous. However, we recognise that not all candidates will have this background and full training and support will be provided to help you develop in the role.
Above all, you will demonstrate behaviours that align with our EPIC values. You will be committed to continuous learning and improvement, treat others with respect and value their contributions, take ownership of your work and learn from experience, and proactively seek solutions that make a positive difference for our residents, businesses and visitors.
