About the Role
As a Waste Minimisation Officer, you'll be out in Trafford's communities every day, supporting residents to waste less and recycle more while contributing to Trafford's ambition of becoming carbon neutral by 2038.
On a day-to-day basis, you'll oversee larger household general waste bin requests and work with landlords and managing agents to improve recycling at communal sites. You'll help shape and deliver waste and recycling campaigns, promote waste minimisation, reuse and recycling, and encourage positive behaviour change through face to face engagement. Through collaboration with residents, community groups and partner organisations.
About You
We're looking for someone with experience in customer service, who enjoys working with people and solving problems. You'll have experience with project delivery, working independently, working with community groups and partner organisations, handling challenging situations professionally, and using data to monitor performance and support decision making.

You'll be passionate about helping people reduce waste, recycle more and make positive environmental choices. Knowledge of waste and recycling services would be an advantage. A full UK driving licence is essential.

- You will be required to drive a Council van in this role so a full driving license is required.
- Flexibility will be required to work outside of regular office hours on occasion, including early starts, evenings, weekends and bank holidays. This will be planned in advance.
