About the Role
We are looking to recruit a qualified Educational Psychologist or someone due to qualify from initial EP training in summer 2026. Trafford EPS is a friendly team who have a passion for applying creative psychology to improve the inclusion and wellbeing of children and young people across Trafford. We apply a consultation model and work at both the pre-statutory/early intervention level as well as providing psychological advice as part of Education, Health and Care Needs Assessments. We have a strong commitment to social justice and anti-discriminatory practice within our team. Trafford EPS values, and proactively seeks, systemic project work and innovation within practice. Over the past few years we have cultivated several creative commissions including secondments to other teams within the LA as well as commissions with the Integrated Care Board (ICB).
About You
We are looking for someone who is a strong team player and has core values around promoting equity within educational settings, valuing diversity and championing the inclusion of all children and young people, particularly those from vulnerable groups. You will enjoy and have experience of applying psychology in innovative ways and be comfortable with operating outside of your comfort zone whilst having access to regular high-quality 1:1 and group supervision to maintain psychological safety whilst doing so. You will be able to practise within a traded model of service delivery and develop effective relationships with your link schools/settings. Applicants to this post are required to have a psychology degree (or conversion equivalent), professional qualification in Educational Psychology (i.e. masters or doctorate) and registration with the HCPC.

- An enhanced DBS Check with children/adults barred list will be required.
- Any appointment made to this role will be subject to the appointable candidate being vetted under Greater Manchester Police clearance processes. A requirement of the vetting process is a minimum of 3 years residency in the UK.
- You will be required to drive in this role. You will be asked for a copy of your driving license as part of the recruitment process.
