About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and passionate Family Time Manager to lead our Family Time Service within Children’s Social Care.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in ensuring children and young people have safe, meaningful and positive family time experiences that support their wellbeing, identity and relationships.
You will have operational responsibility for the Family Time Service, providing leadership and support to a team of Family Time Practitioners and the Deputy Manager. Working closely with social workers, families and partner agencies, you will ensure that family time is well planned, safe and always focused on the best interests of the child.
In this role, you will:
- Lead, support and supervise the Family Time team
- Ensure high-quality and flexible family time provision, including evenings and weekends
- Oversee risk assessments, rotas and service delivery
- Provide specialist advice on safeguarding, permanency planning and attachment
- Support continuous improvement and development of the service
- Promote positive parenting and strong family relationship.
About You
We are looking for someone who is confident, compassionate and child-focused, with:
- Significant experience in Children’s Social Care
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- A good understanding of safeguarding, child development and attachment
- Experience of working with families and multi-agency partners
- A commitment to Trafford Council’s EPIC values: Empower, People-Centred, Inclusive and Collaborative.

- Applicant must hold a full, current and valid driving license and a vehicle with a current valid MOT certificate. There must also be an adequate vehicle to transport multiple children with valid business insurance in line with Trafford’s Travel Costs Reimbursement Policy.

- Flexible approach to working hours according to service need.
- An unsocial allowance of 3% of the basic salary will be paid for working 10% of contracted hours at weekends.
