Tower Hamlets Council is recruiting three Senior Project Managers to join our Highways and Transportation service.  

 

These roles offer a unique opportunity to shape and deliver a portfolio of highprofile development programmes across the borough. You will lead complex projects including highways improvements, transport coordination, and public realm works supporting major regeneration and delivery.  

 

The roles sit within a Major Projects Programme bringing together critical schemes such as the Riverside South development, a landmark project expected to deliver over 8,000 jobs and significant longterm economic growth and the Mayor’s Accelerated Housing Programme, supporting the delivery of new homes across multiple sites 

 

If you are passionate about delivering infrastructure and regeneration programmes and have a track record of managing complex projects, we would love to hear from you. Working in a fast-paced environment, you will provide strong leadership to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and to a high standard.  

 

The roles are 12-month fixed term contracts with a possibility for extension. 

  

In this role, you will:

  • Lead and manage multiple complex highways, transport, and public realm projects
  •  Coordinate technical inputs, development requirements, and stakeholders to ensure successful delivery contributing to major programmes 
  •  Lead programme planning, risk management, and stakeholder engagement
  •  Oversee highway works, ensuring compliance and quality outcomes across major schemes. 

 

About You  

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Strong project management experience within highways, infrastructure, regeneration, or major programmes
  •  Proven track record of managing complex workstreams in fast paced, highprofile environments
  •  Knowledge of relevant legislation, governance, and statutory responsibilities, particularly in relation to highways / transport 
  •  Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a diverse community
  •  Strong leadership capability, with experience working across multiple teams and partners.
