SEND Finance and Placements Officer

Tower Hamlets supports around 4,650 children and young people (CYP) with Education, Health and Care (EHC) Plans for children and young people with SEND. These CYP are supported across a range of settings, including local and out-of-borough settings and post-16 providers.
We are now looking for a highly organised, detail-oriented SEND Finance and Placements Officer to join our dynamic and forward-thinking SEN Finance Team. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive self-starter and team player looking to have a real impact.
About The Role
You will play a key part in ensuring funding is accurate, timely and aligned to need, from SEN Top‑Up allocations to college charges and specialist school fees. Working closely with colleagues, schools and providers, you will help manage placements and keep our financial systems running smoothly.
What You Will Do
- Manage SEND placement funding across a wide range of educational settings
- Review funding requests and ensure they meet agreed criteria
- Produce clear, accurate financial reports for schools and colleges
- Work with providers to ensure payments are correct and on time
- Report directly to the SEN Finance and Placements Manager
What You Will Bring
- Experience working with diverse education providers and payment systems
- Strong understanding of Synergy and financial processes
- Confident ICT skills and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment
- Exceptional organisation, accuracy and teamwork
