Research Officer
Tower Hamlets Council
Research Officer (Health Determinants Research Collaboration)
Are you passionate about using research to reduce health inequalities?
Tower Hamlets Health Determinants Research Collaboration (HDRC) is looking for a Research Officer to join our growing team. We work with residents, the local voluntary sector and universities, changing the way the council works by putting evidence at the heart of decision-making – and we need your help to do it.
This would be a fantastic role for someone who can combine technical skills with a compelling communication style. If you’re great at generating, finding, appraising and synthesising evidence, as well as drawing out its implications to engage and convince others we would love to hear from you.
This is a chance to be part of an innovative and high-profile programme in a new role where you can make a mark. You’ll be building a new knowledge and information service and helping to plan and deliver new research projects, as well as supporting the organisation and evaluation of a research programme. In this role, you will build your experience in research, public health, and partnership working in a supportive but ambitious team that really wants to make a difference.
Tower Hamlets vision for our borough is that: people are aspirational, independent and have equal access to opportunities; we are a borough that our residents are proud of and love to live in; and we are a dynamic, outcomes-based council using digital innovation and partnership working to respond to the changing needs of our borough. We want people who aspire to our TOWER values: Together; Open; Willing; Excellent; Respect.
Tower Hamlets has a zero-tolerance approach to, and works to eradicate, all forms of discrimination on the basis of race, sex, disability, age, religion or belief, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, marital status, status as a civil partner, gender, gender identity, gender expression, pregnancy and maternity and looks to employ a diverse workforce representative of those groups. We recognise that people can also be disadvantaged by their social and economic circumstances, so we will work to eliminate discrimination and disadvantage caused by social class.
We welcome applicants interested in flexible working arrangements and also applicants who live in the borough.
