We are recruiting to the post of Internal Auditor to join our Internal Audit, Anti-fraud and Risk Management Team of the Resources Directorate 

As an Internal Auditor, you will undertake a varied programme of risk-based audits and reviews,  providing independent assurance on governance, risk management and internal control arrangements. You will work with services across the Council to identify opportunities for improvement and support the delivery of efficient, effective and accountable public services.

You will be responsible for planning and conducting audit assignments, analysing complex information, preparing clear audit reports and presenting findings and recommendations to management.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience of internal auditing, risk management or assurance activities.
  • Possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Can communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Is able to work independently whilst managing competing priorities.
  • Has excellent report-writing skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrates integrity, professionalism and a commitment to public service.

Ideally, you will hold or be working towards a relevant professional qualification such as IIA, CIA, CMIIA, ACCA, CIPFA or CIMA.
