Salary Grade: M - £62,742 - £66,084 per annum + £5,020 per annum retention allowance and £1,340 per annum travel allowance
Are you a dynamic and experienced leader passionate about improving outcomes for children and families? Tower Hamlets is seeking a visionary Group Manager to lead our Children with Disabilities Service within the Children and Culture Directorate.
About the Role
As Group Manager, you will oversee borough-wide integrated services, working in partnership with internal and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality social care. You’ll lead strategic initiatives, manage complex statutory cases, and drive improvements aligned with our Children’s Social Care Improvement Plan.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage assessment teams, ensuring effective supervision, performance management, and service delivery.
- Champion workforce development, staff retention, and career progression.
- Develop and implement quality assurance frameworks and data-driven decision-making.
- Build strong partnerships across education, health, police, probation, and voluntary sectors.
- Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in service delivery.
- Manage budgets and contribute to service redesign and crisis management planning
What We’re Looking For
- A qualified experienced social work manager
- Minimum 5 years post-qualifying experience in statutory Children’s Social Care as a front-line manager
- Proven leadership in managing teams and delivering high-impact services.
- Strong understanding of legislation, safeguarding, and best practice frameworks.
- Experience working in multicultural environments and with disadvantaged communities.
