Salary Grade: M - £62,742 - £66,084 per annum + £5,020 per annum retention allowance and £1,340 per annum travel allowance

Are you a dynamic and experienced leader passionate about improving outcomes for children and families? Tower Hamlets is seeking a visionary Group Manager to lead our Children with Disabilities Service within the Children and Culture Directorate.

About the Role

As Group Manager, you will oversee borough-wide integrated services, working in partnership with internal and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality social care. You’ll lead strategic initiatives, manage complex statutory cases, and drive improvements aligned with our Children’s Social Care Improvement Plan.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage assessment teams, ensuring effective supervision, performance management, and service delivery.
Champion workforce development, staff retention, and career progression.
Develop and implement quality assurance frameworks and data-driven decision-making.
Build strong partnerships across education, health, police, probation, and voluntary sectors.
Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in service delivery.
Manage budgets and contribute to service redesign and crisis management planning

What We’re Looking For

A qualified experienced social work manager
Minimum 5 years post-qualifying experience in statutory Children’s Social Care as a front-line manager
Proven leadership in managing teams and delivering high-impact services.
Strong understanding of legislation, safeguarding, and best practice frameworks.
Experience working in multicultural environments and with disadvantaged communities.
