Business Support Officer

We are recruiting for a skilled and motivated Business Support Officer to join our centralised Business Support Hub on fixed-term contract ending on 31st March 2027. This is a full-time role, working 35 hours per week.
You will be part of the Health and Adults Social Care Business Support Service, supporting local teams and helping to deliver high-quality, efficient services for residents across the borough.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong administrative and business support experience who enjoys working in a busy, fast-paced environment. You will play an important role in supporting key Adult Social Care functions, improving workflows and helping teams work in a more efficient, agile and digitally confident way.
We are particularly interested in applicants who have previous public sector experience, strong transferable business support or administrative skills, and the confidence to use Microsoft Office and service databases effectively. In this role, you will:
- Support services with ad hoc business support tasks.
- Support statutory safeguarding meetings.
- Process referrals to panels.
- Manage and maintain ASC inboxes.
- Monitor Adults Social Care workflows.
About You
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:
- Proficiency in the use of specific IT databases and all Microsoft office applications.
- Experience of working within business support teams or holds a strong administrative background and detailed knowledge of office procedures.
- Experience of providing excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to present sensitive information clearly and concisely to a range of audiences.
- Problem solving skills and lateral thinking to develop creative and innovative solutions.
- Flexibility, ability to work under pressure and meet competing deadlines delivering high-quality services.
- Experience in minute taking although full training will be provided.
