Assistant SEND Caseworker

Join Tower Hamlets as an Assistant SEND Caseworker and play a key role in supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Working within our SEND Service, you will help ensure Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) processes are delivered efficiently and in line with statutory requirements.
As an Assistant SEND Caseworker, you will provide comprehensive administrative and business support to EHCP Coordinators, helping to manage assessments, annual reviews, and transitions for children and young people with SEND. You will be a first point of contact for parents, schools, and professionals, ensuring high standards of customer service and accurate case management.
Key Responsibilities
• Support the administration of EHCP assessments and annual reviews.
• Respond to enquiries from schools, parents, and young people regarding EHCP progress.
• Prepare documentation for final plans, school consultations, and SEND Panel meetings.
• Monitor and process annual reviews, maintaining accurate records on relevant systems.
• Support phase transfer processes between education settings.
• Maintain electronic case files and ensure data is accurate and up to date.
• Liaise with professionals to obtain assessment advice and documentation.
• Provide efficient administrative support across the SEND team.
About You
We're looking for an organised and proactive individual who has:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong IT and data management skills.
• The ability to prioritise workloads and meet statutory deadlines.
• Experience working with schools, families, and young people.
• An understanding of the Children and Families Act 2014 and SEND Code of Practice.
