Department Overview

We are looking for a dedicated individual to join our Maintenance Team and contribute to the upkeep and on-going improvements at the Port of Ramsgate and Royal Harbour.

Main Duties

The general maintenance and repairs of all timber and steel fabricated pontoons, fenders, pile guides etc. within the harbour areas.
Fabrication of infrastructure using materials such as wood, metal fabrication, fiberglass and installation of plumbing, etc.
Carrying out inspections to inform fault reporting.
Provide and maintain work sheets and records for workshop machinery.
Undertake general maintenance as instructed by Maintenance Foreman where considered competent.

Essential Requirements

The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience in fabric maintenance and hands-on practical skills in a marine or industrial setting.

Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, operation of applicable machinery e.g. forklifts and ‘Cherry Picker’

General experience in a marine setting would be advantageous.

Qualifications

NVQ or similar in an applicable discipline would be advantageous.

Driving License

This post requires you to have a full driving license

Other Considerations

The post holder will spend much of the working day outside on the port/harbour or in a construction site environment. This can involve working in very harsh conditions over the winter months in a marine environment.
