Thanet District Council’s Financial Services department are looking to recruit a highly organised individual with an eye for detail and accuracy to the role of Payments and Income Officer

Main Duties:

Payments:

  • Monitoring mail boxes for supplier invoices and statements
  • To assist in the processes relating to the weekly payment runs 
  • Actioning tasks relevant to Accounts Payable in our Financial Management System

Income:

  • Processing of all imported transactions relating to payments received by the Council to ensure customers accounts are accurate.
  • Process and allocate all monies received by the Council via cheque payments to ensure customers accounts are accurate.
  • Responsible for the allocation of the Cash Suspense Account including reconciliation to ensure unallocated funds are kept to a minimum.
  • Transfer any misallocated income for all relevant departments and trace any missing payments as requested, ensuring correct allocation of income.
  • Monitoring mail boxes for customer and TDC officer Income queries

Essential Requirements:

  • Ability to input data accurately and efficiently
  • Excellent interpersonal skills when dealing with external and internal customers including the ability to communicate effectively with senior officers
  • Flexible and ‘can do’ attitude towards their work
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Enjoy working as part of a team, with the ability to take responsibility for own workload
