Bereavement Services Administrator
Thanet District Council
We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Bereavement Services Administrator, to work within our small Bereavement Services Team. This role will cover administrative duties, answering telephone enquiries and emails from both the public and Funeral Directors, as well as dealing with walk in requests and enquiries.
As a Bereavement Services Administrator, you will be expected to carry out a range of administration tasks from dealing with enquiries, in a varied format, telephone, and email as well as face to face.
The role will also be involved with entering data, so high attention to detail is required. Also the role will be required to handle cash and cheques.
During our quieter periods, it would be useful for the successful candidate to be willing to undertake other tasks in and around the crematorium and cemeteries, to assist the smooth running of the Bereavement Services Team. This may include light gardening, tidying of the cemetery grounds and assisting with interments and burials.
Thanet is a great place to live and work...
Our historic seaside towns of Ramsgate, Margate and Broadstairs and surrounding villages are rich in heritage and opportunity. Our proximity to the port of Dover and the Eurotunnel at Folkestone mean Europe is literally on our doorstep too.
All of this, combined with a flexible approach to how we work makes it an exciting time to join Thanet District Council. We have set our sights high. We want our residents to enjoy the highest quality services. We want to ensure that by listening to local people, working in active partnership and doing things in an innovative way, we can accelerate improvement to meet the challenges ahead.
