Thanet District Council’s Tenant and Leaseholder Services is recruiting. We are looking for a motivated professional to join our amazing team. 

We are looking for a TA Placement Officer who is organised and committed to delivering great customer service. Thanet District Council is increasing its own temporary accommodation stock portfolio and the councils Tenant and Leaseholder Services has a new team to manage the portfolio. As a relatively new service this is a great opportunity to feed into and support drive forward this exciting new project.  We currently own nearly 80 TA properties and this will steadily be rising to  170 within the next couple of years.

We are looking for someone that is motivated, conscientious and compassionate to join this new small team overseeing Thanet District Councils owned temporary accommodation.   Experience of working in Homelessness and property management is desired, however, if you can demonstrate drive and enthusiasm to deliver great customer service, are passionate about service improvement and have an eye for detail then we want to hear from you. 

Main Duties: 

You will be responsible for providing support and facilitating placements within our own temporary accommodation, property management, VOID Care and ensuring licensees maintain and sustain their temporary accommodation.

Tasks will include: 

  • Providing a property management service to the full lifecycle of a temporary accommodation placement
  • Support the Compliance Team by ensuring access for all Landlord Health and Safety certificates, inspections and actions.  
  • Work collaboratively with other teams to ensure tasks and actions are followed through to resolution, for example, Customer Transactions Team, Responsive Repairs Team, Income Recovery Team and the Project Team.
  • Complete pre-void inspections and organise key collection
  • Carry out lettings in accordance with procedure, minimising void turnaround time and accurate collection of Licensee information 
  • Undertake office-based duties; efficiently deal with all aspects of office administration to ensure an effective delivery of the temporary accommodation service.  Including personal data, maintaining records, creating and closing rent accounts, submitting housing benefit claims and monitoring any arrears.
