Job description

Start your career with Tendring District Council – Business Administration Apprenticeships Level 3

Could you be part of shaping the future of local government?

We are recruiting six Business Administration Level 3 Apprentices to join teams across Tendring District Council and play an important role in supporting services during a period of exciting change as we prepare for Local Government Reorganisation.

This is more than an administration role – it’s an opportunity to develop valuable skills, gain real workplace experience, and be part of projects that make a difference to our local community.

As an apprentice, you will work alongside experienced colleagues, learning how a council operates and developing skills in communication, organisation, digital systems, customer service, project support and problem solving. You will help teams stay organised, support meetings and events, manage information, respond to enquiries, and contribute ideas to improve the way we work.

One day you might be supporting a team meeting, the next helping prepare information for a project, responding to residents’ enquiries or improving a process that helps services run more efficiently.

You will be supported throughout your apprenticeship to achieve the Level 3 Business Administrator qualification, giving you a strong foundation for a future career in local government, business administration, project support, customer services, or many other professional roles.

What we are looking for

We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals who are keen to learn, develop and make a positive contribution. You may already have some work experience through employment, volunteering, school, college or other activities, and you will be able to demonstrate that you are organised, reliable and willing to take on new challenges.

You will ideally have:

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths at Grade 4 or above
  • Good communication and IT skills
  • An interest in supporting people and improving services
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn

Why choose an apprenticeship with Tendring District Council?

You will earn while you learn, gain a nationally recognised qualification and build skills that employers value. You will have the opportunity to work with different teams, meet new people and understand the wide range of services that support our communities every day.

Your journey starts here. Join us and help shape the future.
