The Role

The Public Health Programme Manager will provide programme leadership, strategic coordination and partnership working to improve health outcomes and reduce inequalities across Tameside.

This role has a particular focus on children and young people's health and sexual and reproductive health. The postholder will lead and support programmes that contribute to giving children the best start in life, supporting healthy development, improving wellbeing and reducing inequalities across the life course.

Working collaboratively across the Council, NHS Greater Manchester, education settings, voluntary and community organisations and commissioned providers, you will lead the development, implementation and evaluation of evidence-based programmes that improve outcomes for residents.

You will play a key role in commissioning, performance management, service improvement and partnership governance, ensuring programmes are responsive to local need and deliver measurable impact. The role will utilise data, intelligence, research and evaluation to inform decision making and support continuous improvement.

As a member of the Public Health team, you will contribute to delivery of the Tameside Corporate Plan and wider system priorities, helping to create healthier communities and improve opportunities for residents to live healthy, active and fulfilling lives.
