The Role

This newly created role will play a vital role in helping residents access and sustain homes in the Private Rented Sector. You will provide expert advice on tenancy rights, support residents to secure suitable accommodation, and deliver schemes that promote tenancy stability.

You’ll act as a trusted advisor to tenants, mediating disputes with landlords and resolving issues before they escalate. You will investigate cases of harassment, unlawful eviction and non-compliance, and take appropriate action, including preparing cases for court where needed.

This varied role combines tenancy support, homelessness prevention, and enforcement, working closely with partners to ensure safe, fair, and lawful housing across Tameside.

About You

You will have experience working in a customer-facing environment, confidently managing challenging situations and achieving positive outcomes. With a strong understanding of the Private Rented Sector and relevant housing legislation, you can interpret and apply the law effectively in your day-to-day work.

You will be an excellent communicator and skilled negotiator, able to build trust with tenants, landlords and partners while resolving disputes professionally. You will be highly organised and resilient, capable of managing a complex caseload, prioritising competing demands, and maintaining accurate records to support enforcement action

A strong commitment to delivering high-quality customer service, supported by good IT skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving, is essential for this role.
