The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Sensory Service within Adult Services as a Technical Officer. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person who can prioritise and respond professionally to the needs of people with a visual impairment, D/deaf, hearing loss or duel sensory loss.

You will work as part of a team within the Sensory Service and work closely with the Rehabilitation Specialists. The role will involve assessing the needs of people with a sensory loss and provide service users with the necessary advice and environmental equipment/adaptation to help people with a sensory loss to be as independent as they wish.

The role also involves supporting service development and awareness training across the council and external organisations as required.

You will have previous experience of working in a caring role within a social care setting. You will be able to demonstrate good communication and organisational skills and the ability to work within a multi-disciplinary setting with service users, carers and colleagues.
