About the Role

We are looking for experienced individuals to join our Community Safety team as Casual Control Centre Operators. These are casual positions, as and when required, within Swale Borough Council’s busy Community Safety Control Centre on a variable hours casual contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for anyone looking for flexible hours or just looking for extra work to help us cover a rotating shift pattern, including working weekends and Bank Holidays as required, therefore we need people who are flexible and would be available to work occasional hours at short notice.

Swale Borough Council’s Control Centre operates 24/7 365 days a year monitoring our in-house

Public Space CCTV, Partnership & Commercial Contracts. Key duties of the role include:

 

  • Observing incidents and providing information and assistance to the Police and members of the Swale Link Business Crime Reduction Partnership.
  • Maintaining the security of the Control Centre, only permitting access to those authorised and maintaining access logs.
  • To monitor and deal with, in accordance with agreed procedures, out of hours calls for the Council.

About You

To fill the requirements of the post, you must have previous experience of working in a Control

Centre or Public Space CCTV Environment. You need good IT and Communication Skills with

the ability to work under pressure and independently using your initiative to deal with straight

forward problems. The ability to remain calm under pressure and deal with potentially distressing incidents is essential.

 

Selection Process

Following the submission of your application form, it will be reviewed by the recruiting manager. Those that are successful in this stage can expect to be invited to interview.

A DBS Check and Kent Police Vetting is required for this post. You must also hold, or be prepared to achieve, a Security Industry Authority (SIA) Licence.
