About the Role and our Ideal Candidate An Enabling Independence Officer (EIO) works within Sutton’s Adult Social Care Locality Teams to support adults to maximise their independence, wellbeing and quality of life.Working alongside Social Workers and other professionals such Occupational Therapist, EIOs use a strengths-based, person-centred approach to complete Care Act Assessments and Reviews, identify eligible care and support needs, and help people achieve their desired outcomes.The role focuses on enabling rather than doing for people, supporting individuals to develop or maintain daily living skills, manage risks, build confidence, make informed choices and have greater control over their lives.Our Ideal CandidateWe are looking for someone who is:Compassionate, patient and committed to promoting independence.Person-centred and able to recognise and build on people’s strengths.A confident communicator who can build positive professional relationships.Able to complete Care Act Assessments and Reviews and make sound, evidence-based decisions.Able to manage risk appropriately and recognise safeguarding concerns.Organised, reliable and able to work independently and as part of a team.Comfortable working collaboratively with Social Workers, health professionals, families and care providers.Committed to learning, developing their practice and achieving positive outcomes for adults.
