About the Role and our Ideal Candidate The role will support the Climate Action and Emergency Planning team in ensuring a safe and resilient borough. The post holder will work with colleagues across the Council to help deliver a robust programme of emergency planning, training and exercising. The role will also form a critical part of Sutton’s response to any incidents and provide specialist advice to help shape the response. Within the role you will build relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders and be able to manage competing deadlines.The postholder will be required to form part of the emergency planning out of hours on-call rota, which will necessitate some out of hours working including evenings and weekends due to the emergency planning on-call rota. There is additional remuneration associated with this. In-person attendance in the borough will also be expected during civil contingencies. Part 1: A Local Intelligence Check (LIC) which involves local Sutton Police officers running a search on the successful candidate on a database to ensure there’s no/limited risk to working from the Police Station pending the outcome of full vetting (part 2). This process is expected to take 2-weeks and is to be completed before the agreed start date. Part 2: A New Scotland Yard CTC Level 3 Vetting: This process is done upon appointment and commences on the agreed start date at the Police Station. This is an enhanced process which involves a more thorough background search to provide the right security clearance for access to the police station.
