About LIFE
LIFE (Leaping Into Future Education and Employment) is an alternative learning provision for young people aged 16–19, based in Frimley Green, Surrey. We support young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, with our learners having Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
LIFE provides a small, supportive and inclusive environment where young people can overcome barriers to learning and develop academically, socially and personally. Alongside helping learners re-engage with education and achieve qualifications, our programme focuses on building confidence, life skills and independence, while providing opportunities to develop employability skills and gain work experience. As part of our committed team, you will get to know learners as individuals, see the difference your teaching makes and support them to progress successfully into education, employment or training and prepare for adult life..
If you are passionate about making Maths accessible and meaningful and want to make a real difference to young people, we would love to hear from you.
About the role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and supportive Maths Teacher to join our LIFE team.
You will deliver Functional Skills Maths and GCSE Maths to small groups of learners, adapting your teaching to meet individual needs, abilities and starting points.
You will have support within the classroom, enabling you to focus on delivering engaging lessons, building positive relationships and helping each young person make meaningful progress.
Lessons at LIFE are 50 minutes long, with regular breaks throughout the day. Our small-group approach gives you the opportunity to really get to know each learner, understand the barriers they may face and adapt your teaching to help them succeed.
