About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to help make parks and public spaces across Stanwell and Stanwell Moor safer, more welcoming and better used. You will work with residents and local partners to understand what prevents people from feeling safe, being active and making the most of their local area, and coordinate practical action to address those barriers.
Reporting to the Place Programme Lead, you will lead the Safer and More Welcoming Environments delivery theme within the Stanwell Place Partnership. You will bring together residents, community organisations, schools, youth partners, housing providers, parks and transport services, the voluntary sector, Surrey Police, Spelthorne Borough Council and Surrey County Council. Together, you will help create public spaces where more people feel confident, connected and able to be active.
This role recognises that safety, anti-social behaviour, fear of crime and the condition of the local environment can have a major impact on people’s confidence, wellbeing and use of parks and public spaces. You will help ensure these challenges are addressed through coordinated partnership action rather than in isolation.
You’ll love this job if:
You are passionate about making a practical difference to communities and creating parks and public spaces where people feel welcome, confident and able to be active.
You believe that safer, more welcoming and better-used spaces can support physical activity, wellbeing, community connection and civic pride.
You’re collaborative and inclusive team player, you enjoy working with residents and community groups, building networks and sharing learning.
You can turn community insight, local intelligence and data into coordinated, practical activity.
You are confident working across complex systems where responsibility is shared between different organisations.
