About The Role
At Surrey, we are committed to ensuring that every child and young person with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) receives the high-quality support they deserve. We are already making strong progress on this journey, working together across our SEND services to deliver timely, effective support that leads to meaningful, positive outcomes. Our approach is grounded in strong, respectful relationships with children, young people, families, schools and partner organisations. Relational and restorative practice sits at the heart of everything we do—because we know that how we work is just as important as what we deliver.
As a SEND Quality Manager, you will be part of a team supporting the delivery of Surrey's Local Area Partnership Quality Framework which drives continuous improvement of our Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and their associated processes. This includes quality assurance activity that contributes to Surrey's wider understanding of compliance, practice and the experiences of children, young people and families.
You will undertake a range of quality assurance activities, including EHCP audits, annual review audits, thematic deep dives and analysis of quality assurance findings. You will moderate outcomes, provide feedback to practitioners and managers, and support quality improvement activity that strengthens the effectiveness and consistency of statutory SEND processes.
Working closely with SEND teams, education settings, health and social care partners, parents, carers and young people, you will help ensure that statutory SEND services are delivered effectively and in line with legislation, statutory guidance and local expectations.
You will also contribute to the development and delivery of the SEND Service's training programme, using learning from quality assurance activity, legislative developments and service priorities to support continuous professional development across the service.
You will provide quality support to Surrey's SEND teams, with this post specifically supporting services in the East of Surrey. You will also lead on an agreed area of quality improvement work across the SEND service.
