Job Introduction
This term-time, permanent role is based on the
Teachers’ Pay Scale TMS currently £34,398- £46,839 per annum
plus 1 SEN Point £2,787
based on a 36 hour working week.
The Pay Award for 2026/27 is still pending but any agreed award will be applied and backdated to 1st September 2026.

Access to Education (A2E) service
as a Teacher. We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Teacher to join us in
the East of Surrey based at our area office in Reigate.

About The Role
A2E is a dynamic service that provides vital support to children and young people who are not accessing their full statutory entitlement of education. Our students often have complex special educational needs, mental health challenges and can exhibit challenging behaviour. Current pupil needs include SEMH, ASD, ADHD, PDA, SLD, SLCN.
We are looking for an experienced and creative Primary or SEND Teacher to join us. This is a challenging, but genuinely rewarding role, where you can have a direct impact on the learning outcomes of some of Surrey’s most vulnerable learners.

A2E supports children and young people who may be unable to attend school due to medical needs, anxiety, exclusion, or other barriers. Describe a time when you successfully re-engaged a learner who was reluctant to participate in education. What strategies did you use, and what was the outcome?
Our learners often present with complex social, emotional, mental health, or medical needs. How would you adapt your teaching and curriculum delivery to meet the needs of a student who is working significantly below age-related expectations and has low confidence in their ability to succeed?
A key part of the A2E role is working collaboratively with families, schools, health professionals, and other services. Describe a situation where you worked with multiple stakeholders to improve outcomes for a child or young person. What was your role, and what did you learn?

Surrey has both urban and rural areas and you will be expected to have a valid driving licence to drive in the UK and access to a vehicle and be willing to travel across a wide geographical area.

Surrey County Council is undergoing Local Government Reorganisation and will move to new authorities in April 2027. This role is currently employed by Surrey County Council and will remain so until then. If you are employed by Surrey County Council on 1 April 2027, your employment will transfer under TUPE arrangements to one of the new councils, with your current terms and conditions protected.
