Job Introduction We are looking for passionate people who want to make a positive difference to the lives of young people. We have opportunities to join our friendly and supportive team as a LIFE Pastoral and Learning Support Assistant , helping to reduce barriers to learning for students with EHCPs. We have one part-time permanent opportunity available working 18 hours per week over three days- 09:45- 15:45 The starting salary for this is £15,829.50 per annum pro rata to £31,659 per annum for full time working. We are also looking for bank staff to join the team. As a bank member of the team, you’ll have the flexibility to work available shifts around your other commitments. Hours are offered according to the needs of the service for example for staff cover when required. The hourly rate of pay is £16.87 per hour plus an additional payment for annual leave allowance. The base for these roles is Frimley Green Youth Centre in Camberley . We support students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, the majority of whom have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). The role of the LIFE Pastoral and Learning Support Assistant is to support students on a one-to-one basis and in small groups throughout the day, including during formal learning sessions, breaktimes and lunch periods. Many of our students have not been successful in mainstream schools, SEMH special schools and/or short stay schools. However, they are able to thrive within our highly flexible, inclusive and nurturing provision. The role of the LIFE Pastoral and Learning Support Assistant at LIFE offers a rewarding opportunity to use your knowledge, skills and experience to support young people in their education, personal development and future aspirations. You will work as part of a team to support the delivery of a full-time education programme within LIFE. This will include supporting students throughout the day in both formal and informal learning environments. You will also contribute to the delivery of life skills and needs-led workshops that encourage young people to recognise their strengths, develop new skills, increase their confidence, engage positively with learning and achieve successful outcomes. Your Application In order to be considered for shortlisting, your application will clearly evidence the following skills, experience and align with our behaviours : Experience of working with young people with SEND and/or complex needs. A passion for making a positive difference to the lives and education of vulnerable young people. GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above) or Level 2 Functional Skills qualifications. An enhanced DBS ‘Disclosure and Barring Service’ check for regulated activity (formerly known as CRB) and the Children’s and Adults’ Barred List checks will be required for this role.
