About The Role The role reports to the Principal Business Analyst and sits within the Business Analysis team in IT & Data. The team provides business analysis expertise across a broad portfolio of statutory, regulatory and corporate change initiatives, helping services understand requirements, improve processes and deliver organisational priorities. As a Business Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting complex business change by working with stakeholders to understand needs, identify opportunities for improvement and ensure that solutions are aligned to service objectives and deliver measurable benefits. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading business analysis activities across multiple projects and initiatives, including stakeholder engagement, requirements elicitation, process analysis, options appraisal and business change support. You will work closely with service leads, project teams and subject matter experts to ensure business needs are clearly understood and translated into effective solutions. Working within a fast-paced environment, you will provide professional business analysis expertise across complex pieces of work, helping services make informed decisions, improve ways of working and successfully implement change. The role may also include line management responsibility for one Business Analyst, supporting their development and contributing to a high-performing and collaborative team culture. Over the next 3-6 months, the successful candidate will contribute to a pipeline of statutory, mandatory and priority business change activity, ensuring requirements are clearly defined, risks are understood and recommendations support successful service delivery. Experience of reviewing, mapping and redesigning business processes to improve efficiency, effectiveness and user experience. Skilled in producing clear, high-quality business requirements, user stories, process models and supporting documentation. Able to evaluate complex information, identify root causes, assess options and make evidence-based recommendations. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience facilitating workshops and presenting findings to diverse audiences. Knowledge of recognised business analysis methodologies and techniques, ideally supported by a BCS Business Analysis qualification or equivalent experience.
