We are excited to be hiring a new
Neurodiversity Advisor
to join our evolving Team Around the School Support Hub (TAS SH) within the Early Intervention, Prevention and Support Service based at Victoria Gate in Woking.
This vacancy is aligned to
East Surrey
, supporting schools and settings across the area through Surrey's developing cluster models. The role combines
hybrid working
with regular travel to schools, settings, partner meetings and community locations throughout East Surrey. Please note, occasional travel elsewhere in Surrey may be required, together with occasional attendance at Surrey County Council offices as required.

This is an exciting opportunity to use your specialist knowledge and experience to support schools, settings, families and partner agencies to strengthen inclusion and improve outcomes for neurodivergent children and young people through early intervention and needs-led approaches.

The
Team Around the School Support Hub
sits within Surrey's Early Intervention, Prevention and Support Service. We work alongside schools, settings, families and partner agencies to strengthen inclusion, build capacity and provide support at the earliest opportunity. Through Surrey’s developing
Experts at Hand approach
, we are enhancing Surrey's offer by creating stronger local connections around schools and settings. This enables timely consultation, coordinated support and earlier intervention when needs emerge.
This increased emphasis on preventative and collaborative working allows us to work alongside education professionals and partners to strengthen capacity, improve inclusive practice and support children and young people at the earliest opportunity.

As a
Neurodiversity Advisor,
you will provide specialist neurodiversity advice, coaching and support to schools, families and partner agencies. Working closely with TASSH Cluster Coordinators, health colleagues and wider partners, you will help strengthen inclusive practice and build the confidence of those working with neurodivergent children and young people. You will play a key role in supporting schools to understand and respond to neurodiversity through coaching, mentoring, workforce development and collaborative problem solving.
Your key responsibilities as a Neurodiversity Advisor will include:
Providing specialist neurodiversity advice and support
Coaching and mentoring school staff, and delivering and coordinating training
Supporting inclusive practice and needs-led approaches.
Working collaboratively with parents, carers and partner agencies, and supporting co-production and participation activities
Evaluating impact and using evidence to inform service improvement
Contributing to programmes such as PINS and other inclusion initiatives
Supporting the development of Surrey's Experts at Hand offer
Leading and coordinating small-scale projects and reviews to improve inclusive practice
Please note, this role does not involve working directly with children and young people in a support capacity.

In this role you will receive professional supervision and support with access to ongoing learning and development opportunities. You will have opportunities to work alongside skilled practitioners from a range of disciplines and a chance to influence inclusive practice across Surrey schools and settings.

Your Application
In order to be considered for shortlisting, your application will clearly evidence the following skills and align with

Substantial experience supporting neurodivergent children and young people, and passionate about promoting inclusion and improving outcomes
Strong understanding of inclusive education and needs-led practice
Ability to influence and build confidence in others through coaching and mentoring with experience delivering learning, training or workforce development activity
A collaborative approach with ability to build effective relationships with schools, settings, families and partner agencies
Ability to analyse information and feedback to evaluate effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement
Adaptable, resilient and comfortable working across a range of settings
An enhanced DBS ‘Disclosure and Barring Service’ check for regulated activity (formerly known as CRB) and the Children’s and Adults’ Barred List checks will be required for this role.

Please describe a time when you worked collaboratively with parent carers, schools and/or partner agencies to understand lived experiences, address a challenge and improve outcomes for a child or young person. What was your role, what approach did you take to build effective relationships and partnership working, and what was the outcome? What did you learn from the experience?
Please provide an example of a project, initiative or programme that you helped to implement or review. How did you gather and analyse feedback, measure impact, and use the findings to make recommendations or improve practice?
