We are hiring two new Cabinet Support Officers to join our fantastic Leadership Office team, based at Woodhatch Place in Reigate. We have one permanent opportunity and one fixed term/ secondment opportunity, ending 31st March 2027. We operate a policy of hybrid working, which means you will have the option to spend part of your week working from home whilst ensuring a regular presence is maintained in the office. It is a hub of knowledge, supporting the Corporate Leadership Team (CLT) and Cabinet Members to achieve their objectives in a diligent, trustworthy way, with an exemplary work ethic and commitment to delivering a high-quality service. About the Role In this role you will support several elected county councillors who are part of the Cabinet. You will coordinate and arrange meetings between Cabinet Members and Council officers, managing multiple busy diaries and ensuring schedules are aligned effectively. You will act as a key point of contact, working closely with officers and councillors across the organisation to source reports, briefing materials and responses to enquiries ahead of Cabinet, Board and Council meetings. This support will help ensure Cabinet Members have the information they need to make informed decisions in a timely manner. The role involves managing complex diaries and inboxes, prioritising competing demands and ensuring that deadlines are met within a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for logging and acknowledging correspondence received from residents, MPs and councillors, monitoring progress on responses with Customer Services colleagues, drafting correspondence for Cabinet Member approval and ensuring responses are issued promptly. You will also support the smooth running of meetings by collating and circulating papers, coordinating actions and taking accurate notes where required. Throughout all aspects of the role, you will act as a professional and reliable point of contact, demonstrating political sensitivity and ensuring effective communication with a wide range of stakeholders.
