Job Introduction The starting salary for this role is £16.87 per hour PLUS an additional £2.53 per hour annual leave allowance. This role offers flexible working with availability for before and after school hours, during school holidays and at the weekend. It is offered as a Bank opportunity, meaning any hours worked will be agreed with you in advance with your line manager. Our aim is to provide a quality assured service as part of a child’s care plan, with the overall mission of improving outcomes for disabled children in Surrey. We are looking to grow our team of Support Workers across all areas of Surrey! This is a challenging but genuinely rewarding career where you will play a key role in supporting children to reach their full potential. This will involve helping them in their own home with personal care and manual handling tasks but also helping them to access leisure and community opportunities. We match our Support Workers to the child based on your experience, skills and availability; ensuring we provide a consistent service that is specially tailored both to the child’s care plan and your strengths. We support children across Surrey, but will aim to match you with a child within half an hour of your home. Due to the nature of the role, you should be confident and comfortable in a lone working environment, It is essential that you can drive and have access to your own vehicle. Your Application In order to be considered for shortlisting, your application will clearly evidence the following skills and align with our behaviours : Experience of working with children and young people An understanding of the needs of disabled children and their families Safeguarding knowledge and experience Flexibility to work at key times: before and after school hours, during the school holidays and weekends Surrey has both urban and rural areas and candidates will be expected to have a valid driving licence to drive in the UK, access to a vehicle and be willing to travel across a wide geographical area. Reasonable adjustments where needed will be made for successful applicants who have a disability or long term health condition to enable them to fulfil the requirements of the job. An enhanced DBS ‘Disclosure and Barring Service’ check for regulated activity (formerly known as CRB) and the Children’s and Adults’ Barred List checks will be required for this role.
