About the Team
Surrey County Council has been appointed as the Lead Accountable Body for the delivery of the national WorkWell programme across the Surrey & Sussex Integrated Care Board (ICB) geography. WorkWell is a major Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) funded programme designed to support individuals experiencing health-related barriers to work, helping people remain in employment or return to work through integrated work, health and skills support.
This post is based within Surrey County Council’s Economy & Growth service but will operate across the whole Surrey & Sussex ICB area.
About the role
As a Programme Support Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of WorkWell across Surrey and Sussex on behalf of the Surrey & Sussex ICB, with Surrey County Council acting as the Lead Accountable Body. Working across NHS, local government and wider partner organisations, you will support the reporting, monitoring and governance of the programme, helping to ensure it is delivered on time, within budget and to agreed quality standards across Surrey, East Sussex, West Sussex and Brighton & Hove.
Reporting to the WorkWell Strategic Programme Manager, you will support programme governance and performance management activities, including coordinating reporting requirements for the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), the ICB and other senior stakeholders. You will provide secretariat support to programme boards and meetings, prepare reports and programme documentation, assist with financial processes and grant claims, and work closely with delivery partners to ensure services are aligned to the wider Surrey & Sussex WorkWell framework. You will also support the onboarding of new staff and contribute to stakeholder engagement activities, events and meetings across the partnership.
A key aspect of the role will be maintaining accurate programme data and supporting compliance with contractual and reporting requirements. You will become an expert user of the programme's Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, ensuring participant records are maintained to a high standard and supporting the Reporting and Quality Assurance Officer with management information reporting, governance processes and continuous improvement activity. You will help ensure compliance with DWP grant conditions, reporting requirements and audit expectations while promoting effective and consistent ways of working across the programme.
Success in this role will contribute to the delivery of a high-quality, compliant and financially robust WorkWell programme, supported by strong governance, effective partnership working and robust reporting arrangements. Ultimately, you will help ensure the programme delivers positive employment outcomes for residents, supports people to remain in or return to work, and contributes to reducing health-related inequalities across Surrey and Sussex.
