Join us as an SFRS User Experience Senior Technical Consultant and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Surrey Fire and Rescue Service. This is a dynamic role which is critical to the operational delivery and mobilisation of Surrey Fire and Rescue Service. The role will allow you to help develop new technologies for the service working with suppliers, stakeholders and supervising the User Experience senior technicians. About the Role As the SFRS User Experience Senior Technical Consultant you will provide technical and subject matter expertise for all SFRS’s critical IT Infrastructure, communications and digital services. Supervising a small team, you will manage all technologies used by SFRS, supporting emergency mobilisation whilst overseeing projects, forecasting future technology needs and minimising disruption to services. You will be critical to operational delivery, maintaining the infrastructure, ensuring permanent resolutions to any issues, and install, design and test any technological solutions. You will act as the subject matter expert on any projects providing assurance to the service and work with suppliers to ensure contract standards are maintained. Key responsibilities: To maintain and develop the ICT network and communications infrastructure ensuring the reliability of emergency response and business operations. To own and manage the most complex incidents and problems affecting IT software, services and operational equipment. Ensure all technology and operational communication requirements are delivered. Your work will have a direct impact on firefighters across the service allowing them to get the right information at the right time to attend incidents. You will directly improve staffs experience at work by ensuring the smooth running of all technologies and systems. You’ll collaborate with colleagues across the Service as well as Surrey County Councils IT Teams and Suppliers. This role requires frequent travel across SFRS estate and will require the post holder to be part of an on call roster. How have you ensured that resources, contracts, and supplier performance collectively supported the delivery of critical business or operational services?
