The starting salary for this role is £63,999 per annum based on a 36-hour working week. We are recruiting a Team Manager (Social Work-qualified) to lead our Area East 2 team. We support the Elmbridge, Mole Valley and Epsom areas but with a hybrid work style consisting of remote working and 40% of your time in the office. We celebrate diversity and believe that differences make us stronger. The East 2 Area team supports those from the age of 18 upwards with eligible care support needs. We provide advice and guidance with a vast range of community resources and support networks. The team strives to safeguard those who require additional support whilst promoting independence and choice. About the Role: This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced leader. You will lead a large team, holding overall accountability for performance, quality of practice and service delivery, ensuring residents receive safe, timely and empowering support from first contact. As a Team Manager, you will lead, motivate and support your team to deliver high‑quality, strengths‑based social care practice. You’ll be responsible for ensuring that professional standards, quality assurance measures and customer experience expectations are consistently achieved. Alongside this, you’ll oversee day‑to‑day workflow, triage activity and resource management, maintaining a clear and coordinated operational approach. Building effective partnerships with health colleagues, community services, voluntary organisations, carers and families will be central to creating a joined‑up and responsive service. You will supervise Assistant Team Managers, promoting reflective practice, staff development and overall wellbeing, while ensuring that all practice aligns with legislation, policy requirements and budgetary responsibilities. Your responsibilities also include ensuring that services are delivered in accordance with legislation, policy, guidance and budget, while driving continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for innovation and greater efficiency. You will ensure high-quality reflective supervision systems are embedded across the team, supporting progression from ASYE through to experienced practitioner. You will promote health and safety and take appropriate action where required, and you will actively embed Surrey’s commitments to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion by fostering a culture in which discrimination is challenged. You will retain oversight of complex and high-risk decision-making, ensuring proportionate, strengths-based interventions are consistently applied across the team. Within your team, you will apply statutory responsibilities relating to safeguarding adults, safeguarding children, crime prevention and counter‑radicalisation. The role also requires a flexible approach to supporting the wider operational needs of the AWHP directorate, and you will hold direct line management responsibility for staff, typically including Assistant Team Managers. Professional supervision will be provided. You will oversee team performance against key indicators, manage resources and budgets effectively, and ensure the team is sustainably staffed through proactive workforce planning. You will hold accountability for effective use of resources and budgets, ensuring value for money while maintaining high-quality outcomes for residents. You will take a strategic approach to workforce planning, including recruitment, retention and succession, ensuring the team remains resilient and future-focused You will use performance data and insight to drive improvement, ensuring KPIs and service standards are consistently achieved.
