Job Introduction Learning and Development Instructor, Live Fire – Internal Candidates Only An opportunity has arisen to join Surrey Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS), as an operational General Instructor - Live Fire in the Learning and Development department at Wray Park Training Centre, Reigate, Surrey.This role is permanent position. LIVE FIRE INSTRUCTOR – We are seeking an instructor to lead in Live Fire and support the department depending on requirements which could include Operational Training, such as Recruit Training, Technical Rescue, IECR, Apprenticeship and Development. Internal Surrey Fire and Rescue Service Staff Only – Interest is accepted for personnel having a minimum of One Live Fire instructor qualification and be expected to attend any further course to achieve all three disciplines. Any candidate who do not hold an Instructing (PTLLS or Level 3 award in Education and Training) and/or Assessors (CAVA or A1 full assessors award) qualification, will be supported and developed to obtain these. You will be required to maintain operational competencies by carrying out a duty shift per month at one of our Stations at your substantive rank. Job Introduction You will be responsible for the research, development, and delivery of all learning materials for your subject area, including maintaining the standards of other instructors. As this role is of an operational nature, working in line with nationally agreed conditions, where flexibility is required for some evening and weekend working. The role will be paid at WCB rate if already a competent WC or you have successfully achieved an appropriate Instructor, Assessing (CAVA / A1) and Teaching Qualification (PTLLS or Level 3 award in Education and Training). Prior to this, the role will be paid at WC Development rate. This role attracts an additional 10% enhancement due to the flexible nature of the role. You will be expected to maintain competence in operational duties associated with your substantive role by riding across any of SFRS's Fire Stations at least once per month. Annual Leave - 29 days with long service (5 years) and 8 Public Holidays. Salary – Developing Watch Commander - £44,038 per annum plus 10% or Watch Commander B £48,202 per annum plus 10% based on a 42-hour working week.
