Job Introduction This is a 6 month fixed term / secondment opportunity which has a starting salary of £47,884 per annum, based on a 36 hour working week. The role can be based at either our Reigate or Woking offices. We support hybrid working and come together in person for 2 days per week on average (40% of the working week) alongside community visits. We support working from home the rest of the time. This will involve identifying high priority cases for referral to the Court of Protection and all the work around this. It will include completing assessments and reviews, completing Mental Capacity Assessments and Best Interest decisions and making applications to the Court of Protection. Other work alongside this may include managing and prioritising a complex case load, legal court work, working closely with partners, completing Section 42 enquiries, working on duty, supporting the team with professional development and supervising junior members of the team to ensure a high-quality standard of service is provided. We would like to hear about your substantial post-qualification professional experience as a Social Worker and your experience of providing professional supervision. Senior Social Workers may supervise both qualified Social Workers and Senior Social Care Assistants. This role will have a specific focus on Community DOLS ensuring rights are protected and that the local authority is legally compliant. Alongside this you will take a strengths-based approach, manage risk, support positive risk taking and also maintain the local authorities safeguarding duties Your Application In order to be considered for shortlisting, your application will clearly evidence the following skills and align with our behaviours : Professional qualification in social work and registered with the relevant registration authority Significant post-qualification experience, including experience supporting team members and providing professional supervision Excellent and up to date knowledge of relevant policy, statute and legislation Knowledge of different service provisions Ability to engage and work with a range of clients/ stakeholders. Experience conducting / analysing information/ assessments to make recommendations across a range of different cases. Experience of undertaking safeguarding enquiries and completing mental capacity assessment and best interest decisions Surrey has both urban and rural areas and social care workers will be expected to have a valid driving licence to drive in the UK, access to a vehicle and be willing to travel across a wide geographical area . An enhanced DBS 'Disclosure and Barring Service' check for regulated activity (formerly known as CRB) and the Children's and Adults' Barred List checks will be required for this role.
