About The Role
As a Mental Health Team Manager you will support the day-to-day running of a busy and dynamic Mental Health social care team, prioritising daily challenges effectively. You will confidently ensure that robust processes are in place which enable staff to make sound practice decisions which are Care Act compliant and respond flexibly and quickly to changing needs and emergencies that arise in the community.
An important part of this role is overseeing the supervision and line management arrangements of both qualified and unqualified staff within the team, ensuring wellbeing and development are central to any support model. Maintaining team performance is key; as Team Manager you’ll be responsible for implementing quality assurance measures to ensure practice is consistent and to a high standard so that ‘no one is left behind’. This includes identifying any areas were performance needs a targeted plan.
Promoting and overseeing service delivery to ensure that residents receive appropriate recovery-based support, which works in partnership with other agencies, will be a key responsibility of your role. This will include a clear understanding of team budgets; ensuring commissioned services are affordable, and needs based. You will maintain strong relationships with the Mental Health commissioning team, Mental Health brokerage team and Integrated Care Board (ICB).
You will use your experience and understanding to oversee team decisions around assessing and managing risk to residents, enabling staff to implement safeguarding processes where appropriate. This also includes identifying and managing provider concerns, working closing with colleagues in the Mental Health Quality Assurance team and Commissioning.
We are a supportive and friendly team, where members feel valued. Together we have a wealth of Mental Health knowledge and experience and there is a strong emphasis on learning and development, which is promoted via regular supervision, team meetings and reflection sessions.
