This permanent, part-time role has a starting salary of £23,942 per annum based on a 18 hour working week, pro-rata to £47,884. We are excited to be hiring a permanent, part-time Senior Social Worker to join our fantastic Mid Surrey Mental Health Team based at Pippbrook house in Dorking, supporting residents across the local boroughs of Elmbridge, Epsom & Ewell and Mole Valley. This role is open to hybrid working and as a team we split our time between collaborating with colleagues in the office, working within the communities we serve, and working from home. We are looking for an enthusiastic team player who can support decision making implemented by Social Workers and Social Care Assistants within the team. Your key responsibilities as a Senior Social Worker will include: Supporting the day-to-day running of a busy, dynamic mental health social care team Prioritising daily challenges effectively Implementing practice decisions that respond flexibly and quickly to changing needs Supporting team members Developing effective relationships with partner agencies, service users and carers We are a supportive, friendly team where members feel valued. Together we have a wealth of mental health knowledge and experience and a strong emphasis on learning and development which is promoted via regular supervision, team meetings and reflection sessions. You will benefit from a structured induction programme. Your Application In order to be considered for shortlisting, your application will clearly evidence the following skills and align with our behaviours : Professional qualification in social work and registered with the relevant registration authority Significant post-qualification experience, including experience supporting team members Excellent knowledge of our duties under the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act and Mental Health Act Confidence in making sound decisions that respond flexibly and quickly to changing needs and the ability to prioritise daily challenges Ability to develop effective partner relationships Surrey has both urban and rural areas and social care workers will be expected to have a valid driving licence to drive in the UK, access to a vehicle and be willing to travel across a wide geographical area . An enhanced DBS ‘Disclosure and Barring Service’ check for regulated activity (formerly known as CRB) and the Children’s and Adults’ Barred List checks will be required for this role.
